The Mediterranean Forest Week is a biennial event that serves as a platform for cooperation among researchers, policymakers, and stakeholders, fostering dialogue on the challenges faced by Mediterranean forests.

The 9th Mediterranean Forest Week (9MFW) aims to strengthen regional cooperation and accelerate integrated action to enhance the contribution of Mediterranean forests to sustainable food systems, resilient livelihoods, biodiversity conservation, and climate resilience for present and future generations.

The 9MFW takes place at the headquarters of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), in the heart of Rome. Overlooking the historic Circus Maximus and just a short walk from the Colosseum, FAO headquarters is a landmark international venue where countries from around the world come together to address global challenges related to food, agriculture, forests and natural resources.

Bringing the Mediterranean forest community together at FAO headquarters offers a unique setting for dialogue, collaboration and action — connecting the region’s forests, people and landscapes with the global agenda.
